Dominus Estate was founded by Christian Moueix in 1983. The origins of Dominus Estate go back to the early days of Napa Valley. In 1838, George Yount, for whom the town of Yountville is named, planted the first vines in the area, some of which are on the present Dominus Estate land. The name "Dominus" reflects Christian Moueix's deep commitment to this historic vineyard and his desire to preserve it for future generations. Renowned for its complexity and balance, Dominus demonstrates the potential of a wine produced on an exceptional terroir. In 1997, a winery was built by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. Since 2021, Dominus Estate has been certified as an organic winery.
